OUR SCHOOL

our school_edited.jpg

My school in the hills is an independent elementary school born from the desire to offer a learning environment that respects the pace, needs and uniqueness of each child.   We firmly believe that education is a collective adventure.

The founding members of the association experienced Home Education (IEF) and, drawing on this experience, envisioned a school that values co-education: a respectful collaboration between children, the teaching team and families.

The school itself is designed for the well-being and development of children. Upon entering, one discovers a welcoming reception area that leads to the various living spaces: a large 70m² classroom with age-appropriate furniture, a reading and educational games corner, a room dedicated to naps, motor skills activities, and yoga. There is also a cafeteria/library designed for parents, a kitchen area, and restrooms designed for younger children.

A DEDICATED AND EXPERIENCED TEACHER

Mylène Fronton, partner and teaching director of Mon école dans les collines, with more than 25 years of experience in national education, has accompanied generations of children with passion, rigor and kindness.

Prior to that, she also worked as a speech therapist, which profoundly enriches her teaching methods:

- Attentive listening to the needs of each child,

- Understanding of learning mechanisms

- Pedagogical adaptation to serve all profiles.

Today, Mylène brings her experience and sensitivity to a school she envisioned as more humane, more respectful, and more connected to families and nature. Her role as head teacher allows her to guarantee a solid educational framework while fostering the cooperative and alternative spirit that is the heart of the school.

THE PLACE

The church and its gate tower are listed monuments.

Our school thrives in the heart of the village of Pouylebon, a region steeped in history and authenticity. Located between Mirande, Marciac, and Montesquiou, this privileged site offers a preserved natural environment, ideal for discovery and learning. Pouylebon lies on one of the routes of the Camino de Santiago (Way of St. James) and at the heart of the future Astarac Regional Natural Park, an ideal setting for raising children's awareness of nature and the environment. The municipality also provides green spaces that support educational projects related to living things.
