The association Mon école dans les collines was born from the desire of a group of parents, educators and teachers committed to enriching the educational offering in our society.

OUR SCHOOL
Mon École dans les Collines is an independent elementary school born from the desire to offer a learning environment that respects the pace, needs and uniqueness of each child. We firmly believe that education is a collective adventure.
The founding members of the association experienced Home Education (IEF) and, drawing on this experience, envisioned a school that values co-education: a respectful collaboration between children, the teaching team and families.
The school itself is designed for the well-being and development of children. Upon entering, one discovers a welcoming reception area that leads to the various living spaces: a large 70m² classroom with age-appropriate furniture, a reading and educational games corner, a room dedicated to naps, motor skills activities, and yoga. There is also a cafeteria/library designed for parents, a kitchen area, and restrooms designed for younger children.
OUR TEAM IS EVOLVING
Our school is growing and evolving. A new bilingual Head will join the adventure in September 2026 in time for back to school to help continue the development of our unique educational project.
THE LOCATION
Our school thrives in the heart of the village of Pouylebon, a region steeped in history and authenticity. Located between Mirande, Marciac, and Montesquiou, this privileged site offers a preserved natural environment, ideal for discovery and learning. Pouylebon lies on one of the routes of the Camino de Santiago (Compostela de Santiago), and at the heart of the future of Astarac Regional Natural Park—an ideal setting for raising children's awareness of nature and the environment. The area also provides a calm, green space that supports educational projects related to the living world.

A TYPICAL DAY AT THE SCHOOL
Pupils are welcomed at our school on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.
The establishment is closed on Wednesdays.
Children arrive every morning from 9am. The day ends at 4:30pm.
After-school care is available for families who require it.
All practical information is provided at the beginning of the year.
School holidays follow the official national calendar, allowing everyone to enjoy regular rest periods.
THE MORNING
In the morning, time is devoted to welcoming, daily rituals, fundamental learning, personalised work plans, research, and expression time.
LUNCHTIME
The lunch break, taken between 12:00 and 13:30, can be at school or outside, as preferred. Parents provide packed lunches.
THE AFTERNOON
In the afternoon, there are a variety of activities: outdoor school, reading, yoga, creative classes, review of the day, tidying up and participation in the maintenance of the spaces.
